Do ecyo products or packaging use plastic?

While our pods appear to be plastic, they are actually a biodegradable product called PVOH (see our blog on this) that will easily dissolve in water.

In addition, our packaging does not use plastic either. Instead we use recycled card which is compostable and recyclable.

By providing an eco-friendly cleaning solution in our pods, you are able to reuse one of your own plastic bottles rather than throwing them away only to replace them with another. It might not be the final solution to the world's plastic problem, but we are definitely on the way.

Do you provide bottles?

We can, and do, but part of the benefit of our products is that you can reuse your old bottles.

Instead of buying new cleaning products in bottles, then throwing away those bottles when it's empty, why not keep the bottle and add one of our cleaning pods to it?

This is one way we can all reduce the plastic problem our world currently faces.

If you do need bottles then yes we can provide bottles made from recycled plastic which you can keep and refill rather than throwing it away.

What type of bottle do I need?

Any bottle that can contain up to 750 ml and has a spray nozzle attachment will be fine. You can also use as small as 300 ml if you want a more concentrated solution. Our packaging to make it easy just states to use a 500ml to keep it easy, but feel free to experiment.

You could use a screw top bottle, and apply the solution onto a cleaning cloth, but we have found that is very hard to meter the amount of product use.

What are super concentrated pods?

Our cleaning range all come in super concentrated pods.

Each pod contains concentrated plant based cleaning agents that are too strong to use as it is, and should be dissolved and mixed into water (as per the product instructions) prior to first use.

Each pods dissolves safely in water.

Do ecyo cleaning products contain phosphates

Do ecyo cleaning products contain palm oil?

The production of palm oil is one of the leading causes of deforestation in the world today.

Palm oil is used in a huge variety of products including food, cosmetics and cleaning products.

As it is in great demand, more and more land is cleared to make way for its production.

This not only leads to deforestation, but also a reduction in genetic, species and ecosystem biodiversity.

Australia is one of the countries known as a megadiverse country, meaning it is one of the 12 countries that contain around 75% of the earth's total biodiversity.

Being an Australian company, we at ecyo believe it is our duty to lead the way in how we care for our world.

We see that refusing to use palm oil is just one example that needs to be set.

Can I track my order?

Yes, you should receive a tracking number from Australia Post or other alternative when you purchase.

Where do you ship to?

We are currently shipping to all areas of Australia and New Zealand, but are preparing to ship to other countries as well.

Drop us an email if you are in a different country before purchasing, and we will make sure we can get product to you quickly and efficiently.

Why did you make a liquid not a tablet?

1. Liquid pods are much faster…and better at dissolving. Liquids dissolve into a liquid (water) much more effectively than a powder based tablet.
2. We can make more of the ingredients count towards cleaning action as we don’t need to add ‘fillers’ with no added cleaning benefit which are needed to keep the tablet structure together.
3. Liquids give us more flexibility, we can add stronger scents, essential oils and more effective plant based cleaning agents.
4. And...cause we were amongst the first in the world to work out how to do it… and it’s cool.

How do I clean a dishwasher?

After clearing the filter and ensuring none of the water vents are cloged use 1/2 cup of vinegar in an empty dishwasher on a short wash:  Turn it on (short wash),  after a few minutes (just after the dishwasher has done an initial rinse - you'll be able to hear when this ends) open the door and add the vinegar into the dishwasher, close the door and allow it to finish the wash.

My dishwasher tablet isn't dissolving

Firstly ensure you have enough water entering the dishwasher. Make sure the connection is not kinked or twisted. Secondly, check that your dishwasher is heating up correctly, in order for grime and grease to be cleaned effectively a dishwasher should reach a temperature of at least 45C. Clean the dishwasher as above.
Lastly, try placing the tablet at the bottom or the machine, not the draw, as they might be getting stuck on say a cutlery draw and not dissolving properly.
